Mike is a paediatrician and a Senior Research Fellow with the Faculty of Health and The Institute for Health Transformation at Deakin University, with a research focus on the comprehensive transition to environmentally sustainable healthcare delivery.
To date, Mike and colleagues have collaborated to address issues such as all-electric and renewably powered hospital builds, models to avoid nitrous oxide leakage from piped hospital supply, mechanisms to a reducing PPE waste, and the systems-oriented transition to high value, low emissions models of care, recently leading the National Sustainable Asthma care Roadmap project.
Mike is also the past Victorian Chair of DEA and a member of the Sustainable Healthcare and Healthy Investment SIGs
