Worsening climate change is increasingly impacting mental health, according to general practitioners (GPs), prompting calls for Australian leaders to prioritize mental health in climate and health policies.
As the Bureau of Meteorology forecasts an unusually warm summer, the DEA has presented compelling new evidence indicating the adverse effects climate change is already having on the mental well-being of Australians.
‘There needs to be uniform training in climate change and health, including mental health, for the whole health and aged care sector, including general practice,’ said Dr Kate Wylie, ED of Doctors for the Environment Australia.
