Quarterly Essay: Woodside VS the Planet

We hold grave concerns about the approval of any project that causes greenhouse gas emissions, because all these emissions combine to cause harm. Woodside’s environmental plan argues that the staggering 878 million tonnes of CO2 planned to be produced by Scarborough across its projected life are “de minimis,” or of negligible environmental impact. For doctors, just as every cigarette does damage, every tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent adds to global heating and health harms.
