The City of Sydney has officially endorsed a ban on gas appliances in new buildings in Sydney, following a previous council decision to restrict indoor gas appliances in new homes.
Doctors for the Environment Australia board member and neurologist Dr Shaun Watson says the move will improve the livelihoods of Sydney residents and inspire others to follow suit.
“City of Sydney has just placed itself on the right side of history in the transition towards renewables and electrification which will help the environment and improve people’s health,” he said.
