Dr Sophie Scamps is the Independent Federal Member for Mackellar on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
Before being elected in 2022, Dr Scamps worked as an emergency doctor at Mona Vale Hospital and as a local GP. Scamps studied Medicine at the University of Sydney and has a master’s degree from Oxford University and a Master of Public Health with the University of NSW. She also founded Our Blue Dot, a community-led non-profit organisation that aimed to reduce waste and emissions.
In 2025 Scamps was re-elected on a platform of addressing intergenerational inequality, tackling the cost of living and climate crises, as well as supporting small businesses and better health outcomes.
