Croakey Health Media: Senate urged to consider health focus in proposed environmental reforms

Dr. Kate Wylie, executive director of Doctors for the Environment Australia and GP, believes that the associated health risks should receive more attention in the midst of the heated politicking surrounding national environmental legislation revisions that the Albanese government seems determined to finalise this week ahead of a Senate committee inquiry report due next March.

Dr Wylie writes, Clean air, clean water, healthy soils capable of producing nutritious food, shelter and a stable climate are fundamental to human health, yet health considerations are nowhere to be seen in the “reforms”.
