Hospital Sustainability Project Tracker

To achieve a net-zero health-care sector, transformative changes in how we manage our facilities and deliver clinical care are required.

Healthcare sustainability initiatives should be embedded organisation-wide with a focus on governance & leadership, workforce education and engagement, clinical care delivery, facilities management and procurement.

This Hospital Sustainability Project Tracker, designed by Doctors for the Environment Australia (DEA), is prepopulated with recognised initiatives to provide inspiration and guide hospital leadership teams, clinicians, health care professionals and staff to introduce environmental sustainability activities across the organisation.

Aligned to the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care Environmental Sustainability and Climate Resilience Healthcare Module, this resource focuses on mitigation (aiming to reduce the emissions associated with healthcare delivery) rather than adaptation (aiming to make our healthcare system more resilient to our changing climate). Use of this project tracker does not ensure that your organisation will meet all the requirements of the Module as this tracker was not developed by the ACSQHC.
