The Sydney Morning Herald: Woodside’s Scarborough gas project environment plan “vague, uncertain”

In recent environmental news, the activist organization Doctors for the Environment Australia has initiated legal action in the Federal Court challenging the approval of the production environment plan for Woodside's Scarborough gas project.

DEA's executive director, Dr Kate Wylie, contends that the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) granted approval without fully comprehending the management of the project's potential impacts.

“Woodside acknowledges that there is uncertainty about whether gas from the Scarborough project will displace even dirtier fuels,” she said.
