Professor Nick Talley, Board Chair of Doctors for the Environment Australia spoke at the Climate + Health Forum in Canberra about the many risks to human health and the planet from climate change and the responsibility of doctors to take action.
“We have a duty of care to educate our patients, our colleagues and our communities, to grow research, build resilience, and decarbonise where we can in the health system. And, of course, to use our voices loudly and look for change.”
Speaking to the limbic Professor Talley acknowledged that doctors have heavy workloads and busy lives but that the health impacts of climate change are already impacting their work.
