The Eastern Melburnian: Doctor joins call to action to prepare health system for more severe heat days

The National Climate Risk Assessment report emphasised that the rising risks of extreme heat and bushfires would heighten health threats on a national scale.

Dr Chris Leung, Deputy Board Chair of Doctors for the Environment Australia explains how extreme heat can affect the community and impact healthcare. “Overheating worsens the symptoms of other chronic diseases,” he told the Eastern Melburnian.
