Renew Economy: Doctors say regulator engaged in “box ticking” exercise with Scarborough gas approval

Doctors for the Environment Australia has filed a legal action against the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA)'s decision to grant environmental approval to Woodside's $16.5bn Scarborough gas project, claiming it was a "box ticking exercise" and seeking a judicial review over the approval.

Dr Kate Wylie, ED of DEA, said the group was seeking to check the regulator’s work because “as doctors, it is our duty to protect our communities.”
