The DEA inaugural national nature photography competition looked to explore the interconnection of population health and the health of the ecosystem in which we live: your experience interacting with the natural world around you.
A photography awards night will be held on Wednesday August 23
Where: Doreen Dew Lecture theatre, Westmead Children’s Hospital
Join us for an amazing evening featuring
- Guest speakers including Professor Ben Marais from the University of Sydney
- Light refreshments
Entry is free. All are welcome.
Details of the Competition
Who Can Enter?
Entry into the competition is open to all members of the general public, including students, provided they are above the age of 18 and currently live in Australia. There is no requirement to be a doctor or medical student.
Entrants are encouraged to respond to the competition title “People, Country, Planetary health”. When submitting a photograph, entrants are asked to provide a short blurb detailing where photo was taken, and how it explores the competition theme.
Entries will be limited to the first 100 people who participate. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
Judging and Prizes
Judging will take place by prominent industry representatives, including the renowned bioethicist and University of Sydney’s Professor Angus Dawson.
1st and 2nd prizes will be awarded for each of the two categories: students and non-students. Prizes include:
- Milkwood ‘Introduction to permaculture’ course
- Mystery weekend for two at Blue Mountains retreat house
- Nourished Life vouchers
