The NSW Environment Protection Authority will monitor the Blue Mountains' air quality for the first time after strong pressure from the community, including doctors, about the uncovered coal trains travelling up and down the Mountains. Read more HERE.
Doctors for the Environment Australia warned a Blue Mountains Unions and Community meeting in Katoomba last year that pollution from the trains may have serious health implications which could contribute to heart and lung disease, as well as asthma and some cancers.
