DEA Submission on the South Australian Public Health Bill 2009

To read the Bill and Explanatory paper, click here. The DEA submission recommends that the new Bill extends its concept of public health into the health impacts of Global Environmental Change and its components such as climate change which are increasingly important for population health. We also urge that the legislation be strengthened to be more proactive in promoting sustainable healthy environments, rather than just reactive to potential threats.
